How do I measure my shelving boards?
Measure the width of your board to determine which capacity bracket you need. We allow a couple of millimetres for clearance purposes so if the inside capacity is stated as 225mm it will measure closer to 227mm. We recommend installing a bracket for every metre length of shelving board.
How much weight can the brackets hold?
Our scaffold board brackets have been tested by an independent testing laboratory. Our standard scaffold board brackets can easily hold 40kg of weight per pair per metre of board when installed correctly by a competent installer and with the shelf evenly loaded. Our braced brackets can hold 100kg when installed correctly. Remember to factor in the weight of your wooden shelf and use wall fixings suitable for your project surface.
Will my brackets look like your photos?
Yes, as far as we can when hand creating each individual item! All of our brackets are handmade by us and the measurements stated are approximate but we will endeavour to make them as close as possible to those stated. The appearance of metal from our supplier can sometimes vary from those in the photographs but will always be of the same quality.
How do I preserve the appearance of my brackets?
Our brackets are made from raw mild steel which is suitable to leave raw in dry environments for a rustic, industrial look. You can protect your brackets from moisture by applying wax, paint or clear lacquer.
Do you provide a bespoke service?
You are welcome to complete the contact form to request a bespoke item but we are usually kept very busy making our standard products and can’t often take on bespoke orders.
